Who is Sandy Kumskov?

I am a marketer from way back! After studying journalism at University, in 1996 I was working in public relations when I was asked to "find out more about that internet thing, and make a homepage-thing for us". I did, and I was immediately hooked ty the breadth and depth and connection possibilities and sheer toy-value of the internet!

But my Aquarian love for technology became all-encompassing and a few years later, after a thyroid cancer scare and then a car accident,  I emerged from the tech-haze with the realisation that my path lay not entirely in technology, but with people. I had lost touch with that aspect of my life and I felt the lack. Fortunately I had a loving husband and two lovely daughters who had kept me connected to people, but my inner circle had shifted to those who were as enraptured by the emerging internet as I was! I felt constrained and was sure, with the help of Louise Hay, that the thyroid illness had been a symptom of needing to express myself in a different way.

What way, I had no idea.

I asked for guidance and a couple of days later woke with the prompting to retrain as a holistic counsellor. I had never even heard of holistic counselling but fortunately early-Google soon had me pointed in the right direction, and three months later I was a student again, at the Australian College of Natural Medicine.

Everything about the course and the College resonated so completely with me, it was like a part of me going home – somehow. I loved it! In my second year there I met the extraordinary teacher, Annie Meredith, and there was an instant recognition that we would be journeying together. Her understanding of the mind-body connection is shared so clearly and generously through her teaching that others can only connect to that understanding. After graduation I worked in the same clinic as Annie, and that has worked very well for us both, and for our clients, for several years now.

As a newly self-employed counsellor and long-time small-business owner I knew that marketing was essential to my business success, and so have been able to combine my enjoyment of making online connections with people all over the world, and being paid to explore the human spirit – otherwise known as self-development! Annie has been a blessing in my life, as a mentor and dear friend.

So when Annie asked earlier this year if I would be willing to help her launch her essences onto the market I was just delighted to do so. When she told me she was thinking about the Winter Solstice as the launch day – a bit over ten weeks away and just the clinical notes on on the essences to be converted into a book and the essences made, packed and so on, I gulped a bit but knew with her passion and my determination we could get it done.

And we did, though it was hectic!

Our marvellous families were able to assist and the Spirit of Woman Australian Wild Flower Essences were on their way! The journey has only begun….. To read Sandy’s Blog, please click here.
