Desire – The Greatest Classical Music for Lovers – cover art

I don’t know who originally wrote this fantastic blog post, but I had to pass it on. Please let me know if you identify it as yours – it is brilliant information for a woman. Thank you……..

It echoes exactly what I wrote in my book The Essence of Woman about women taking on their sexual partner(s)’s energy through sexual exchange and subsequently possibly carrying it forever.

Please read on:

‘Scientists have discovered that a sizeable minority of women have Y-chromosome gene sequences in their blood. This is interesting because as you may know, Y-chromosomes are the chromosomes that belong to men, so ladies, what are they doing there, and where did they come from?

An obvious answer would be from pregnancy with a male son, every woman who has been pregnant still carries cells from her fetus within her bloodstream. Cells from the pregnancy will reside within the mother’s bloodstream and organs for the rest of her life. Even if the pregnancy was terminated or if there was a miscarriage these said genes would remain with the Mother. There is a name for this so-called condition, it is called microchimerism (1), which is named after the Greek chimera, a mythical, monstrous fire-breathing animal that is composed of the parts of three animals a lion, a snake and a goat. Okay so that explains it, well at least it does for the women who have given birth to sons. But what about the women without sons that still had male cells in their bloodstream?

The Study

This called for a study (2) that was done by immunologists at the Fred Hutchinson Caner Center in 2004.  In this study they took samples from 120 women who had never had sons. They found that 21% of these women had male DNA. The women were then categorized into 4 groups according to pregnancy history: Group A had only daughters, Group B had had one or more miscarriage(s), Group C had induced abortions and Group D had never been pregnant before. The prevalence of male michrochimerism was considerably greater in Group C although it was still present in each group. Group A 8%, Group B 22%, Group C 57% and Group D 10%.

The conclusions of this study noted that the possible sources of male michrochimerism included, known pregnancies, miscarriages, vanished male twin, or sexual intercourse. This means, that through intercourse alone there is a potential for women to hold onto male genes and DNA within their organs and blood stream for their entire life!

I find this extremely fascinating because a spiritual friend and mentor once told me that every time you sleep with somebody you are taking on a part of them within you. I thought of this as a powerful metaphor, that we were keeping a part of them energetically. Needless to say, it made me reflect on certain things from my past and this whole analogy really made a lot of sense. But, to learn that there is actual scientific proof to back this up and that it is a physical thing, that is more than just energy. The idea that as women we are capable of taking on actual physical DNA from the men that we sleep with, was an extremely eye opening piece of information to stumble across.

This science puts a whole new meaning on sexual intercourse as a whole. It is a very sacred and spiritual act and should be completely regarded as such. A lot of people are misusing sex and have forgotten what it is meant for and how important and consecrated it really is. I know I can speak for many women because as a woman I know what this is like and have had experiences in the past with giving away sex somewhat freely because of insecurity or to please or impress a man without actually even realizing how irresponsible this was. Because at the time, it was just sex, and when you are completely disconnected from yourself, it doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal. Now being older and more connected to my spiritual self I realize that sex is not something that is meant to be thrown around and given out so freely, it is a sacred act that creates a bond between two people that love and care about each other. It is so important for us (humanity) to realize this. There is a lot of power and amazing potential within this act and it has the complete capability of connecting us with our true selves.

Many of us are holding onto a lot of sexual baggage from our past, it is not my intent to make anyone regret past experiences. Rather, to let go and embrace what the past has taught us and move forward with this knowledge and consider it wisely. With this information I’m sure you will think twice about whom you are ending up in bed with, and at the very least, I’m positive that you’ll be sure to use a condom!

Much Love

Energetically speaking, women can be likened to gardeners: tending and nurturing themselves, their children, their relationships (both intimate and their network) and the planet. In so doing, they fulfill their biological destiny. At the deepest level of being, the  female gender is biologically inscribed to seek peace, support others to achieve their best potential and to connect easily with others.

When we understand in a spiritual context what ‘connection’ truly means, ie, that all living beings, including human, animal, plant and planet, are connected to one another in a seamless ‘whole’ that creates the All That Is, we can truly begin to see the critical role that women play in the life process as connectors.

We can also begin to recognise that separation does not support a healthy, sustainable life. In fact, researchers tell us that cells in isolation cannot survive. We have to be connected to live optimally. Connection enables all aspects of life and underpins healthy eco-systems, including those at a more personal level, such as the family or a workplace environment. Hence, interpersonal relationships are not only critical to survival, but their quality has been linked with levels of happiness or contentment, which in turn has been demonstrated, through research, to be a factor in a long healthy life.

Interconnectedness means that every thought we have and every emotion we feel affects every other being, in a constant subliminal interactive stream. We can no longer indulge in the belief that our thoughts are ours alone, because on a deeper level they are being broadcast to everyone in our ‘field’ and being picked up on an energetic level by those around us. Thoughts generate emotions which can be easily be ‘read’ by others.  For example, when was the last time you felt someone’s anger or knew someone was depressed, even though no words had been spoken?

Women are known to easily intuit the emotions and thoughts of others.  This is because their biological design equips them to. It is an aspect of their gender specialisation that enables them to fulfill a major role that Nature prescribed for them: to carry the baton of evolution through to the next generation by having babies.

Men on the other hand are highly specialised to be good at separation. This allows them to compete; for a mate and for provisions for the family they generate.

So according to Nature’s basic plan, which has worked pretty well up until now, men and women have clearly de-marked roles assigned to them.

The trouble is though that as well as carrying out the physical imperative that Nature planned for us, we are also highly conscious beings and most of our evolutionary development has taken place at the level of the mind and soul, which is genderless, or rather bipolar, as it contains both a masculine and a feminine aspect. So how do we engage at the level of the physical, where our genderisation dictates moods, values, behaviours, ways of thinking and even our physical prowess?

Somehow, to be authentically who you are born to be, you need to act out your genderised imperative (for some of you that may be as a gay or lesbian) while still expressing the spirit side of your being, consisting of mind and soul, which contains both a masculine and a feminine aspect.

As we said above women are genderised to connect – they are therefore good at being in relationships.

Men are genderised to be separate – they therefore struggle with relationships – they are not innately good at it.

Women interface with men, in many different ways, not just sexually as lovers, but as wives, mothers, mentors, work colleagues and friends. And, without a doubt women need men – they are biologically inscribed to need connection and equate love with intimacy. Women love to love and love to be loved. Woman need men.

Men interface with women in many different ways too. But unlike their gender counterparts they are biologically inscribed never to show how much they need women. But, of course, men need women. However, the masculine nature is designed to mask the deeper need for closeness through the appearance of nonchalance, courage and self-sustenance. Men love to be strong and to be seen as strong and silent. They love to be loved too, but often have difficulty in expressing love. They get bamboozled by their woman’s emotional intelligence.

Many relationship troubles reflect this basic lack of alignment between men and women and it often translates into a lack of easy communication between couples, be it verbal, emotional or sexual. At the soul and mind level many couples are a perfect match…..but at the physical level they seem to be tongue-tied and twisted when it comes to understanding their gender differences and that they look out of different windows at the world about them, including at the expectations they each have within their own relationship.

Energetically, women and men complete a biological circuitry that is a fundamental of life, through which life renews itself over and over again. As individuals, we are bound to the physical programming we are born into (masculine, feminine or gay), but we also have a powerful mind and soul directive that can learn and understand how to reconcile our gender differences to come to a place of mutual fulfillment and love.

The journey involves first coming to an understand of the biological drives that motivate our own behaviours, values, dreams and aspirations. As soon as we identify the window we are looking out from (our own bias), we can then engage our higher wisdom to apply to our living situation and start the journey of understanding the other.

Being polar opposites, women and men, are meant to be different.

Your relationship will come fully alive for you when you can celebrate the differences to create common ground.

Spirit of Woman’s next workshop, The Essence of Relationships explores the differences between you and your partner that can be the cause of much distress or which through creative understanding can lead to a creative, fun and pleasurable flourishing of your relationship. The day is sprinkled with laughter, joy, ah-hah moments and the recognition of a capacity for deep love within your intimate and family relationships.

The workshop, based on my book The Essence of Woman, speaks to men just as strongly as it does to women. In the words of Neil, the husband of a woman who attended one of my seminars:

I have just read your book and was impressed by your understanding of the male psyche. Few female writers are able to empathise the way you have articulated the male perspective. I enjoyed the book and found it insightful

The Essence of Relationships workshop describes how certain e-motions, as energy-in-motion, are more specifically the domain of the female energetic patterning, and that other e-motions are more likely to be expressed by a male than a female. It demonstrates the fundamental differences in the way females think compared to males.

Physically, emotionally and attitudinally, females and males seem to be poles apart and yet together, they create the full complement of humans being. In reality, we all have a wholistic soul that has no gender specification. In this workshop you will learn how to attune to your soul, harmonise with your body, whether you are male or female, and bring joy into your life.

Enjoy your journey…………

An auspicious event in the astrological calendar, the Venus Transit, is occurring on June 6th 2012. There is much excitement in scientific circles about this event, but it is its spiritual significance that will affect us all globally. Venus eclipsing the Sun represents a strengthening of the Divine Feminine energies to support a return to the lore of love as the driving force on our planet.

The transformation brought about by the showering of these beautiful Venusian energies will lead humanity into a higher spiritual path. What we can expect, as this wisdom settles into our consciousness, is a peaceful way of being that wants no part in war, aggression, killing and mutilating, environmental degradation, chaos, starvation and moral breakdown. These atrocities will be no longer tenable or even thinkable in the light of the new awareness that is being ushered onto the planet right now and magnified with this series of powerful astrological events.

Transits of Venus occur in pairs, eight years apart. The previous one was on 8th June 2004 and on June 6th 2012, the second in the current
pair of transits is occurring. There won’t be another transit until 2117, over a hundred years from now. The last pair of transits was in 1874 and 1882. During this time there was a call for women’s rights and Feminism was born.

Venus transits represent a greater focus on feminine energy and love being downloaded to us from the celestial realms. Venus rules love, values, self-worth, abundance, finances, harmony, beauty, the Arts, relaxation, pleasure, and sex.

The Dalai Lama has spoken about how women will save the earth – he refers to the fact that women have the Venusian qualities of connection, love, nurturing and support inscripted into their biology and how by allowing these qualities to come to the fore, we can help humankind transform to bring about a peaceful and loving society.

Women have been forced to take second place in the patriarchal society that has dominated Western culture over the past three thousand years. However, there are many recorded stories in Ancient Wisdom of women playing important roles as healers, goddesses, shamans, leaders and saviours.

It is this powerful Divine Feminine energy that is now coming into play at a Cosmic level – and bathing humanity in its transformative glow.

Women must come into their strength and take their turn at leading humankind into the New Light.

This does not mean that women will dominate men into subservience.  The energy of the feminine is about power-sharing, inclusion, connection and support, so it is more likely that men will feel empowered and willing to power-share, grateful that the responsibility which has rested so heavily on their shoulders, will be lightened and co-opted.

This re-emergence of the Divine Feminine is not an ending, but rather a necessary step towards ultimate balance, where the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine sit easily side-by-side to bring about peaceful co-existence on Earth, with the planet and with all her Kingdoms; human, plant, animal and mineral.

The Spirit of Woman Essence Blends that work towards loving ourselves and valuing who we are are Woman Worth and Body Love. You can read about both of these beautiful supportive essence blends if you click here.

The Divine Feminine

2012 has been hailed as the year of the ‘end’ of life as we know it – predictions of catastrophic events have served to create fear and trembling on one level of understanding, but  those whose feet are planted firmly in the ‘real’ recognise that the end of one cycle automatically opens to another. The signs of change are all around us as climatic, economic and political instability grab the news headlines, and we are forced, in our personal lives, to reconsider novel ways of navigating our relationships, our work habits and social interactions in order to retain some sense of control. The old order is rapidly changing.

The advent of the internet has been one of the most critical agents of change in our global, national and local community and our social, working and personal lives.

Enabling interconnectedness through networking, its significance in politics, the media, commerce, education, the spread of information to the furthest out reaches of the globe has been transformational for the human community. In the personal arena is has fostered connections between people for the promotion of trade, the  gathering of interest groups, the strengthening and expansion of friendships and the blossoming of intimate relationships.

The global interconnectedness facilitated by the internet  has brought about a deeper global awareness of the need for our human family to work together in relationship with one another, and with the planet, if all seven billion of us are to survive and enjoy an abundant and fulfilled life. The information super highway of the internet has reached and informed even the most geographically isolated people, and has precipitated a desire for all to share in the abundance and quality that life can offer – provided all humans can learn to share.

With these demands arising from the groundswell, humanity is being forced to change the way the world has been structured up to now. The changes demanded of us are so precipitous and challenging, we need to know how to navigate the transition, let alone feel confident that everything is unfolding as it should be.

From the Course of Miracles comes a reminder to focus on what is real in our own lives, rather than on fears:

” Nothing unreal exists.

Nothing unreal can be threatened.

Herein lies the peace of God”

In unpacking the ‘trend’ of the change, it seems that some of the words that might describe what is being asked of us as we transit the inexorable transits all around us are: interconnectedness rather than separation, mindful conservation rather than mindless consumption, helpful co-operation rather than harmful competition, mutual support rather than self-centred independence, considered management rather than speculative risk-taking and planned resourcefulness rather than reckless expenditure.

Each quality listed above is asking us in one way or another to move into relationship – with one another, nation to nation and humanity to the planet.

The ability to be in relationship is an endowment of the Divine Feminine.

Human beings have been very much under the influence of the Divine Masculine for the past three thousand years or more. We needed to be, because we were in the growth and development stage of human consciousness. But now is the time for us to move into our hearts and to do so we need to embrace the Divine Feminine. Let’s look at how we can do that in our personal relationships…..

St Valentine’s Day is on the horizon. This is a day when we celebrate the Divine Feminine energy of the heart. We come into the heart when we move from a position of being centred solely within the self (ego-centred) to a place where we are centred between ourselves and the other. In so doing, we come into relationship.

From this stance, we can celebrate differences, negotiate outcomes, co-operate for mutual advantage and more readily recognise our own part in disharmony, thereby defusing conflict. Instead of being the judge, critically evaluating the other from a lofty position, we become the empathiser, understanding the human-ness of ourselves and others. Relationships flourish under this perspective.

When was the last time, in the middle of an argument, you stopped in midstream to consider ‘what part am I playing in this disagreement? and what did I contribute to this situation?’ Most of us take the adversarial stance in a dispute, thinking from our own ego-centred self, ‘I am right and he/she is wrong’!

From the Divine Feminine perspective, we soften our position to allow the other to be fully present in our consciousness, even in dispute. By sharing the moment from the heart and celebrating our differences in the here and now, we allow the other to have a point of view while simultaneously upholding and empathising with our own position. In this way we come into the space between ourselves where resolution is easier. Often the outcome is laughter with a mutual sense of renewed ability to negotiate the dispute.

This is Goddess energy. It is the energy of love, peace, allowance and co-operation. And it is awakened on the planet in 2012.

Aspects of Goddess energy have been articulated powerfully in human history through mythology and inscribed in the heavens as the Asteroid Goddesses. Those that pertain to love, romance, innocence and deflecting the wounds of love include:

Aphrodite – the Lover archetype involves Venus and the Air signs especially Libra

Persephone – the Innocent Daughter archetype involving water signs especially Scorpio and Pisces

Hestia – the Spiritual Devotee archetype involving Earth signs and especially Virgo and Capricorn

Artemis Goddess of the Hunt – the feminine warrior archetype involving thMars and the Fire signs especially Aries and Sagittaruis

The Asteroid Goddesses express the many aspects of the Divine Feminine – the energy being ushered in during 2012 and to which all humans will be exposed during the next phase in the evolution of consciousness. As we learn to gracefully engage in relationships in all aspects of life, not just personal, we will experience more peace in the world and an atmosphere of pervading love that will enable us to survive as a species and enjoy communion with other life forms on the planet, for mutual life enhancement.

Click here for how to book for the Asteroid Goddess and Spirit of Woman Australian Wildflower Essences workshop to be held at Mt Nebo on 12th February from 10.00 to 4.00, co-facilitated by Charyn McLean and Annie Meredith.

As so many of us will remember, the teen years were a time fraught with angst, as the hormones of puberty surged through the body, bringing abrupt and sometimes unwelcome changes, along with challenging emotional shifts that often wreaked havoc within our family circle.

It can difficult to watch our teens transit those years, without wishing we could put our ‘wise head of their young shoulders’. One of the difficulties is that we rarely stop to remember our own transition, after the event and in the flurry of ‘the now’, and how ‘florid’ it was.

In the intervening time period, between our own passage to adulthood and that of our own children (or grandchildren), thanks to studies in brain changes and neurochemistry, the rocky pathway from childhood to young adulthood has been elucidated and explained.

Recent research reveals that one of the most disturbing elements during this transition time is that the hormonally driven change does not occur simultaneously through all levels of being: physical, emotional and mental. Whether the child (or the family) is ready or not, at a certain age (2 x seven year cycles for girls, 2 x eight year cycles for boys) hormones start to circulate through the body bringing swift and unrelenting body changes, with a cascade of accompanying emotional swings that often feel like a roller coaster gone berserk (to both the teen and the family). The most disturbing element is that the developing brain has not yet made the transition (it comes later in teenage-hood) and is way out of sync with the body. So, for a number of years, it is as if our children are in a vehicle designed for speed and dexterity, but do not know how to drive!

Surges of sexual hormones not only initiate the rapid installation of sexual equipment in your darling boy or girl, but also the compelling drives to go with them!

So now, the tender embraces of your little boy are replaced with withdrawal, long awkward silences, and a deep reluctance to attend any family function. You may even find a certain stiffness to his under-sheet when you change the bed, as your sweet darling becomes obsessed with a masturbatory frenzy that he can’t seem to control, but from which he suffers a deep sense of guilt that won’t allow him to look you in the eye like he used to.

Or you may find that your little girl no longer wants you to play dolls with her, but rather, abruptly shuts you out of her room with a ‘Private…Keep Out’ notice screaming at you from her bedroom door, as she ties the phone up for hours talking to her new ‘doll set’, those girls at school whose backgrounds may even seem slightly dubious, considering the influence they seem to have over her!

Each of the genders will come to the height of the hormonal influx at different ages – for girls it is roughly fourteen, although many these days are sprouting their indicators of premature onset as early as ten! Urban myths may lay the blame at a variety of causes, including eating chicken laced with hormones to excess pineal gland stimulation from living with electrical lighting, but the outcome is the same – a screaming, opinioned banshee that always knows better than you do, disguised as what was once – your darling little girl!

Boys are scheduled to kick in at sixteen, so the dissociation that always occurs, happens later than for girls. But the shock is more often startling, because we seem to lose our boys, rather than experience them emotionally going ape in our face, as they slide rapidly into keeping as low a profile as they can get away with. This allows them to engage in their nefarious activities of perving at breasts, (even their sisters have a new fascination, and especially their friends!), surreptitiously handling their rapidly growing and highly responsive member and competing with their former same-gender friends, as arch enemies to be beaten at every turn, whether peeing up against a wall or coming first in a bike-race to the death!

The problem is, as research reveals, teen brains don’t mature at the same time as their bodies. The ultimate brain change that signals passage into adulthood and is often known as the development of the ‘angel lobes’ doesn’t occur until the late teens/ early twenties. This stage sees the development of ‘wisdom’ accompanied by an ability to recognize the consequences of one’s actions on others. No wonder it is not until we are 21 that we are considered old enough to be given the ‘key to the door’ – prior to that we don’t have the sense of responsibility required to honour that ritual privilege.

So for roughly seven years, our children are in a sort of private hell of chaos, caused by emotions running out of control and body functions characterized by spurts of excess and deficiency as hormones kick in, running ‘rough’ until they settle over time into some sort of balanced functioning.

Added to the trauma of learning the ropes of a newly functioning body, are the sudden and passionate crushes on members of the opposite sex (or in some cases, the same sex), the jealousy, covert or blatant girl politics, the stressful male competition with former friends and the alienation from the family as the hormones of individualism take precedence in our children’s bodies.

This teen transition rightfully creates the bridge from the family of origin to the family of humanity, as our children cross from the security of the intimate family zone where they are mostly unconditionally loved to the world stage where they have to find their place in a less accepting, more hostile environment with a panoply of different values to the ones they hold dear.

While we may understand the difficult crossing our children are making, it is not always as easy to make the transition ourselves as we face the onslaught of alienating behaviour from the children we have given so much to and born so many sacrifices for.

Teenage transition is difficult for all involved and requires understanding, patience and a deep ability to keep communication lines open through all the tumultuous years. Our children do come through and reconnect later with a renewed and revitalized bond that can last for the remainder of a lifetime, provided we cross the bridge together. While their focus is different to yours, yours is about letting go gracefully and theirs is about reaching out to the wider world, so long as you can move and flex through all the behaviour changes and still remain friends, the ride is worth every bump!

Our new retail blend is called Teen Transit and is designed to facilitate this roughest of rough passages, and can be taken with equal effect for both teenager and family members – parents and siblings. It smoothes tumultuous emotions, balances hormones and assists in adapting to the flurry of change that accompanies these trying years. Available in some retail outlets, it will be ready for purchase online within the next week….watch this space!!!!!!

The human being is made up of both a physical and a subtle energy component. To understand about the functioning of the physical body we need a thorough knowledge of the physical anatomy. Similiarly, to understand about how the subtle energy systems work, including the emotions and the psychology, we need a complete knowledge of the subtle energy anatomy.

The subtle energy anatomy consists of both the meridians, networks of vital energy that interconnect with and supply info-energy to all parts of the body, and the chakras, subtle energy centres that feed into the meridians.

Chakras appear to be “mini brains” – nodal points of electrical and chemical activity that receive, process, and distribute information from and to the rest of the bodymind – our intelligence is not just a product of the mind, but includes ‘body intelligence’, largely accessed through intuition and feeling.

Physiologically, each chakra is the site of a neuronal plexus – a network of cells dense with neuropeptide transmitters.

Each plexus is connected to every other one, such that nourishing any one plexus enhances the effectiveness of the entire system.

Trauma or neglect can manifest as a block at one or more nodal points (chakras), degrading the performance of all. Ultimately, disease is the outcome, when blocks and energy distortions are not rebalanced or removed.

Neuronal functions of each plexus reflect the spiritual attributes traditionally associated with the corresponding chakra, via neuropeptide activity, which triggers emotion and psychological expression, as well as physical functioning.

Neuropeptides are plentiful in chakra areas and seem to link the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our being.

It is increasingly difficult for scientists to identify the point at which any one of these aspects of our being becomes separate from the others.

There is growing evidence that the separation between science and spirituality is as misled as the notion of mind and body being separate.

Let’s take a brief look at the base chakra, commonly known as Chakra One.

The root chakra is linked to survival. It is the site of intense neuropeptide activity. Freud identified the anal stage as being the first phase of our psychological development!

Some of the emotional and psychological issues linked to this chakra are:

  • Maintenance of the body,  energy loss and physical debilitation, effects of stress on the physical body;
  • Ability to survive the hardships of living in the physical world;
  • The need to be consciously in body, to be present and not dissociated;
  • Capability to move on from the collective energy of the tribe (family).

Just to get an idea of how balanced you Base (root) chakra is, answer the questions below. There is no right or wrong, just an awareness of how well you are grounded into your Base Chakra……

CHAKRA ONE: EARTH, SURVIVAL, GROUNDING

How often do you go for a walk in the wood, park, etc?

How often do you exercise?

How is your health?

How is your financial situation?

How would you rate your diet?

Do you consider yourself well grounded (practically-minded)?

Spirit of Woman Australian Wild Flower Essences help to restore balance and clear distortions to the chakras. They do this powerfully but gently by re-attuning you to your best possible expression, assisting you to make decisions in your life that are life-affirming and healing.

For example, Dandelion helps us to focus and be ‘present’, it stops the chattering mind, helps with sleep and attunes us into our ‘body intelligence’. It works on re-balancing the Base Chakra.

  • Maintenance of the body,  energy loss and physical debilitation, effects of stress on the physical body;
  • Ability to survive the hardships of living in the physical world;
  • The need to be consciously in body, to be present and not dissociated;

Attracting What You Want in Life

Human consciousness is undergoing a rapid transformation, an expression the evolutionary drive inscripted into the biology of all living beings.

Known by many as The Shift or the Ascension, this tipping point of the inexorable push to better life expression has been encoded into the very structure of our physical bodies and into the planetary bodies that make up our solar system. In fact, it has been described as a quantum leap in the evolution of Humankind. Many astrologers are watching the heavens and recognising the signs of imminent and powerful progress and linking these indicators with the completion of the Mayan Calendar as evidence of a major change in the state of affairs on this planet and in the universe at large.

Over the past sixty years, human society has been through what can only be described as a revolution in living. This has occurred in the wake of the monumental changes in awareness of the world we live in and how we manipulate our environment. Our knowledge base has increased many-fold with the advent of increased travel, communications, and television, the internet and mobile phones. Most of us nowadays have the same amount of information on our home computers as was once contained in world libraries! If we include what is available to us through our search engines, there is no comparison. We have multiplied our knowledge base as individuals, way beyond what could ever have been imagined only sixty years ago.

Access to knowledge raises our awareness of ourselves and of the world around us. In other words, increasing knowledge raises human consciousness. The speed at which knowledge has been made available to humanity has led to a sharp, swift increase in mass consciousness over the past sixty years (a quantum leap). Additionally, the more knowledge we have the more quickly we can tap into further knowledge. Consequently, consciousness is shifting so rapidly that we are all now able to see the changes and often experience overwhelm because the Shift is coming so thick and fast.

In the old world, governments controlled the masses by keeping them ignorant. But the technological advances of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century mean that no longer are the ‘little’ people being left out of the loop. This means more transparency in government, business and organizations such as the churches, the medical and the legal systems as people question authority from an informed base.

A New Reality is emerging arising from the grass roots level. A higher level of consciousness is more available to more of the people, more of the time and becoming increasingly so. Freed of the tyranny of ‘authority knows best’ many people are drawing on their own inner knowledge base to make decisions about their own lives and about the way that society is meeting their needs.

In the New Reality the individual matters. This is because as conscious individuals we are beginning to realize that we have as much right to planetary resources, peaceful existence, freedom of thought and feeling and the ability to create the life we want as those who have assumed the right to have more, and be more, than their fellow humans. This inequality was perpetrated through wealth and privilege and a tight hold on the knowledge base that existed in the world. With the shift of the knowledge base, more people are now evaluating the terms of their own happiness and contentedness and questioning the world outside of themselves for what it has to offer them and their loved ones. A plundered world is devoid of the resource to support life, so the question is, how can we create a world that is life-enhancing and life sustaining? And the answer is in changing the way that we think.

In the New Reality, success will be measured not by the wealth you have but by how much capacity for joy is in your life – both in your inner and outer worlds. Increased consciousness brings the realization that life is for living now, not in some distant time when we will be ‘ready’ to do the things we love and cherish. That day will never come. There is no room for greed when we live fully in the now.

One of the most important understandings of the New Reality, validated by ‘new science’, is the notion that we create our own reality. We do this by the power of our own thoughts. Thoughts are high frequency energy (known as thought forms), which have the capacity to manipulate and shape the lower frequency energy of our environment. When our thoughts are clear and aligned with our desires they create an energy force that gathers together and orchestrates the energies of the universe to create new realities. This means that what we think and how we feel right now is creating our future. If we are busy ‘getting there’ and never arriving, in our day-to-day thoughts, then we are creating the reality that we will never ‘get’ what we want.

For just a moment, I ask that you imagine the power of thought to change the world when many people across the globe are thinking similarly or in the same way. With the increase in knowledge base, and the recognition that we can create our own reality, many individuals are seeking joy in the here and now. So mass consciousness is changing ….and rapidly! The critical element is the number of people thinking these thoughts. So, you and your thoughts do matter. You can change the world by changing your thoughts.

When we embrace this change in our day-to-day lives we infuse it with a heart-centred reality that dissolves worry, anxiety and stress, simply because these emotions reflect our addiction to the past or future. The past and future dissolve when we focus on the present. We also lose that sinking feeling that time is speeding up and leaving us behind when we focus instead on the magic of the moment.

Remember to breathe – it brings you into the now. Open your heart to your inner dialogue and stay tuned in – you are your best judge of what you need right here and now.
